Living Well With Chronic Pain: A Hands-On Workshop

March 24 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$35.00

Living with chronic pain can feel overwhelming, isolating, and unpredictable—but you don’t have to navigate it alone. This interactive workshop brings the most valuable pieces of pain rehabilitation into one powerful, approachable session. Occupational Therapist Katy Owens will guide you through the essentials of pain science, how stress and emotions shape the pain experience, and what truly helps when pain becomes a long-term companion.

You’ll learn practical strategies like activity pacing, energy conservation, graded exposure, and mindful movement—all presented in clear, everyday language. Throughout the workshop, you’ll receive guided prompts to help you reflect on your own patterns and needs. By the end, you’ll walk away with a custom Low-Pain Recipe: a personalized, realistic plan for reducing flare-ups, improving daily function, and supporting your whole self—body and mind.

All participants will be entered into a raffle for a free 60-minute consultation with Empowered Path Occupational Therapy, a $195 value.

Katy Owens, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist, educator, and founder of Empowered Path Occupational Therapy, where she specializes in supporting adults living with chronic pain and chronic illness. Katy’s work is grounded in a simple belief: people deserve compassionate, evidence-informed care that honors their lived experience. As a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and someone who lives with chronic pain herself, she brings a rare combination of clinical skill, authenticity, and personal understanding to her clients and her teaching.

Katy earned her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University, where she received the Outstanding Graduate Award. Her practice blends pain neuroscience, nervous-system regulation, mindfulness, pacing, lifestyle redesign, and the core OT principle that meaningful activity is medicine. She focuses on helping clients move away from fear-based patterns and toward confidence, clarity, and sustainable progress.

Katy also teaches internationally, sharing her pain-informed OT approach with audiences of Canadian occupational therapists and at the World Federation of Occupational Therapists Conference in Thailand. Across settings, she is known for translating complex pain science into approachable, validating, practical guidance.

Through Empowered Path OT, Katy helps people build the tools, confidence, and “low-pain recipes” they need to reclaim their days and reconnect with the activities, roles, and identities that bring meaning to their lives.
